Autobiography
Finally, the examination week! Although we’re not having exam on all the papers that we took this semester, I reckon it would be at least 4 to 5 papers. Luckily, we’re not having any exam on this paper yet.
For this week, we had had class on Monday, just like it used to be. Although I would prefer to have a two hours slot on Friday with no class on Monday, I think that would be impossible since we need to be in our separated group in Friday’s class.
Last week, we basically spend two hours in getting our thesis statement on track. In my case, I still hold on in doing “The Lottery” as my project paper. Dr. Edwin had rejected my thesis statement two weeks ago but then I came out with something that could not say no. Since I’ve already got his permission on this topic, I guess I can start doing my analysis now, or later.
Today, we did the study on autobiography. We discuss in detail about autobiography, and we (or maybe Dr. Edwin) came out with few suggestion of autobiography that would be good for study. One particular example would be “The Long Walk to Freedom: The Autobiography of Nelson Mandela” which was written by the great man himself.
Dr. Edwin also mention about this ‘ghost writer’ stuff where it refers to people who’s being paid to write about certain individual in a form of autobiography, but later they will not be allowed to tell other people publicly that he’s the one who’s written it. For me, it would be a terrible feeling of seeing other people getting all the famed because of my works, but then again, if I were paid a hefty sum of money just to keep my mouth shut, I think I can get over it.
