Thesis Statement

Everything seems to be going pretty slow this time around. Most probably because of the haze that has struck KL in the past few days. Dr. Edwin was forced to cancel his class on Thursday and Friday because of the hazardous condition of UPM at that time. So all the works and assignments that we supposed to submit or present on Friday were brought forward to Monday.

This week, we did the presentation of our points regarding our thesis statement that we have selected. As known to many, I did my study on Jackson’s “The Lottery” and for that I have came out with four main points that would become the core of my analysis. Unfortunately, only three of them were accepted since Dr. Edwin said that the other one was irrelevance and did not signify the topic that I’m studying.

Other than that, we managed to discuss the four questions that we supposed to answer based on our reading of Nelson Mandela’s autobiography. Different people come out with different answers so it becomes a little bit of time taking. As for that, we only managed to discuss two questions while the remaining two will be dealt later in Friday’s class.
